It’s been a long time!

Yes! It has been a long long time!!

It’s been about a month since I left for Hong Kong for work. Totaled to a 2 month period without seeing moochie.

Kruder has taken the duty to take her out for walks and also my family has taken good care of her while I was gone!

Now that I’m back, can really tell that Moochie has grown alot more and also so much more affectionate and loving.

I don’t know what my family would be now. Not as many laughter and smiles without the ever adorable and loving moochie.

She also has her first “in heat”!!! It’s really quite something!

Sometimes it can be a bit heavy and she will tend to leave stains around the house. But nothing that is like huge flow! It’s more like stains.

We actually bought her baby pampers but I think she got so uncomfortable, she just hid under the sofa the whole time the pampers was on.

It lasted for about 2 and a half weeks. Pretty long! But since it comes twice a year, mum is okay with the “in heat” period and wants Moochie to grow to a full grown woman before neutering her.

Yesterday was the first time we brought her to a relative’s house and she has been very very obedient! She was really curious and jumped up our relatives but still, she was a joy and brought joy and smiles to every one.

Where’s snoopy?

picture from amazonI was so thrilled today by the fact that Moochie was able to understand the phrase, “Where’s Snoopy?”

Her fetch toy has been snoopy the stuff toy all along and it’s been kept in her tent. So when I asked “Where’s Snoopy?”, moochie went in her tent and took out snoopy and looked at me for a fetch game.

I was so happy to see that moochie is getting better and better at this!

Incident accident

I’m supposed to look after Moochie during the last few days that I’m going to stay in SG before my long absence but now I’m bedridden and trying to recover as soon as I can…. I feel quite sad that I’m not able to move around as much…

Finally walking on a leash!

Moochie has finally walked on the leash after countless attempts!!! It happened last Saturday when I slipped on the leash as discreetly as I could. Thank God she didn’t pause and stay there and she actually walked! I was so happy yet worried- wondering how long would it be before she realised.

I tried putting the leash on again at home, but she stopped and didn’t want to move after that. Sigh… I’ll try it outside again I suppose!

Here’s the video of her finally walking on a leash!

Dilemma

I saw a really cute and adorable toy poodle this afternoon at the pet shop. He is only 2 months but he seems like a big boy already. Apparently the shop keeper said that he was the first of the litter, which explained why he is slightly bigger in built.

And the best part was… it was cheaper than moochie. Was tempted to get it but having consider all factors, I realised it may not be feasible for the time being for the following reasons.

  1. My mom would probably frown upon it. I think she would freaked out.
  2. It would cost quite a bit in terms of maintenance every month to take care of the pet
  3. I have to fork out cash up front to buy it and my priority is to save up now.

How how?.. sigh. Kinda tough hur.

Giving back to society

I’ve realised that I’ve had the urge to want to give back to the society whenever I look into the innocent eyes of Moochie. The helpless nature of animals makes them even more vulnerable to how humans decide to treat them.

Hence, I’ve created a group in Facebook, called “Care for Animals“. The group is

For people who wish to contribute in a way or another for animals.

1) Against cruelty, abuse, and abandonment.

2) Encourage the education of the treatment of animals

3) Helping humans understand animals are friends.

I’ve gotten in touch with SPCA on whether or not there’s a possibility of creating a tie-up with this group. Hopefully I’ll be able to bring this further and with the support of people reading this, and those who have a passion for this, AND if you’re in Singapore, hopefully you will get your asses off chair and let’s start feeling passionate about more things! hehee

Cheerios Everyone!

Close Encounter

Where should I begin?

I never have had close encounters with dogs previously. I come from a family where parents are not very fond of pets, particular one with furs and require maintenance to look after. My mom, being a hygene fanatic has quite a big phobic of pets i.e. cats, dogs etc.

So in my years of living on this planet, I never have any pets and I do not really have much interaction with them. However things changed a couple of months ago when my love bought herself a toy poodle. In fact, my initiation reaction was, a little surprised and shock at the at same time coz I really didn’t see that coming. Honestly, I didn’t know how esle I should react.

But when I went down with them to pick up moochie – the toy poodle. My whole life changed. Really. From a non-dog lover… to someone who are curious about dogs. Even find out about different breeds out there. I never held a puppy before, I never fed a puppy before, I never played with a puppy before. But all that changed when in front of me, was the cutest, and most adorable, hyper active puppy I have ever seen. It was really a nice happy feeling when the puppy jumped up to you, licking you all over with its tail wagging furiously. It was a nice, warm fuzzy feeling.. somewhat like a person showing affection to you.

From then on, I had more chance to play around with moochie and getting to know her better. She brought so much laughter and fun into the family and moochie has a innocence and fun loving personality. Though she couldn’t talk but I could see that in a way, she is like a baby, expressing herself through other ways… making sounds and certain behaviour. It is really an interesting sight for me. No wonder they say that dogs are men’s best friends.

I am still new to this whole pets things but I know that, I am slowly accepting the fact, that puppies are one of the most amazing pets one can have and they are not as bad as what my mom thinks!
